Shelley Mann is a lifelong horsewoman bringing over 22 years of experience in marketing, communications, and leadership in both local and national nonprofit organizations. She is deeply committed to promoting equine education and welfare, with a particular emphasis on safety, health, and management.
Originally hailing from Michigan, Shelley was drawn to the heart of Kentucky's Bluegrass region from an early age. She graduated from Morehead State University before going on to receive her Sports Marketing Certification from the University of Kentucky. This unique blend of science and creativity equips Shelley to deliver innovative and dynamic business solutions through 1681 Equestrian.
Shelley’s career has been defined by her ability to build and nurture strong relationships with clients, industry leaders, advocates, and organizations. This has translated into increased product offerings, enhanced revenue, and expanded programming opportunities—all contributing to her passion for supporting the equine community and horse sports.
A pioneer in leveraging technology to advance equine health and welfare, Shelley has played a key role in numerous industry-shaping initiatives. As the Director of Marketing and Communications at The United States Pony Club, Inc., she led several transformative projects, including: Managing content for a cutting-edge, database-integrated website; securing funding and designing an interactive educational display; producing impactful promotional videos and commercials; developing meaningful social media campaigns; and launching an award-winning quarterly online magazine.
Shelley continued her impactful work as the Executive Director of the Secretariat Center, a nonprofit dedicated to retraining and rehoming Thoroughbred racehorses. Under her leadership, the organization increased grant funding, event revenue, and sponsorship revenue.

With over 18 years of expertise in event management, strategic planning, and leadership within the nonprofit and equine sectors, Erin Woodall brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every project she undertakes.
Erin graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Agriculture Education and is on track to complete her Master of Business Administration by May 2025. This powerful combination of hands-on experience and academic insight fuels her ability to craft innovative business solutions for 1681 Equestrian's clients.
As the co-owner of Grit Equine, LLC, Erin oversees a thriving equine boarding and horse show officiating business in Lexington, KY. Managing the care of 34 horses while working for and coordinating multiple competitions has honed her expertise in logistics, client relations, and equine care.
In her most recent role as Executive Director of Equestrian Events, Inc. (EEI), Erin led the prestigious Kentucky Three-Day Event in 2024. Drawing over 100,000 attendees, this international competition required unparalleled precision in planning, vendor management, and onsite logistics—challenges Erin met with remarkable success.
Before her tenure with EEI, Erin spent 17 impactful years with The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. (USPC). As Activities & Events Director, she orchestrated 20+ national championships, 15 in-person conventions, six custom-built registration systems, virtual conventions and online equine knowledge competitions. Erin has in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, GSuite, and numerous SAS platforms and consistently leverages technology to enhance business and event management from planning to execution.
Erin’s dedication to the equine industry extends to her volunteer service on the boards of two nonprofit equine organizations. While on the Kentucky Horse Council (KHC) board, Erin served as President for two terms and held roles as Vice President and Secretary during her seven-year tenure. She also spent nine years on the Midsouth Dressage and Eventing Association (MSEDA) board in numerous positions, including Board Secretary, Newsletter Editor, and Communications Committee Chair. Through these roles, Erin has demonstrated excellence in governance, strategic oversight, and community engagement, further strengthening her ability to support her clients’ needs.
